Επαναλαμβάνεται κι αυτό το καλοκαίρι για τους φίλους μας επισκέπτες η έκθεση με τον τίτλο ΑΠΟ ΤΟ 1850 ΜΕΧΡΙ ΚΑΙ ΣΗΜΕΡΑ η οποία περιλαμβάνει έργα της συλλογής του ΜΕΤΗ και αφηγείται την ιστορία της τέχνης ,που αφορά το νησί, τα τελευταία 170 χρόνια αλλά και της Ελλάδος γενικότερα.

Πρόκειται για ένα κατόρθωμα που πειθαρχεί χρονολογικά σε μια αλυσίδα της οποίας ο κάθε κρίκος έχει την συνέχειά του μέχρι να φτάσει στις μέρες μας, όπου σύγχρονοι καλλιτέχνες αποτελούν μαζί με τους παλαιότερους μια εκπληκτική ομαδική έκθεση.

Δυστυχώς ο περιορισμένος χώρος του μουσείου δεν επιτρέπει μια αναλυτικότερη προσέγγιση πάνω στο θέμα,Το αντιμετωπίζουμε με περιοδική αντικατάσταση των έργων με άλλα ισοδύναμα προκειμένου να μην χαθεί η ουσία του θέματος και να έχει πάντα την ισορροπία που απαιτεί μια σοβαρή επιλογή από τα έργα της συλλογής.

Για τη είσοδο στο ΜΕΤΗ δεν απαιτείται εισιτήριο. Λειτουργεί το σύστημα της εθελοντικής εισφοράς για την συντήρηση των έργων.

Η έκθεση θα παραμείνει μέχρι το τέλος του Οκτωβρίου . Θα είναι ανοιχτά από 18.00 έως 20.00. από Δευτέρα έως και Παρασκευή . Για τα Σαββατοκύριακα ισχύει πάντα η συνεννόηση στο mail: met.heraklion@gmail.com

FROM 1850 TO THE PRESENT DAY

This summer, the exhibition titled “FROM 1850 TO THE PRESENT DAY” is once again being held for our visiting friends.
It features works from the METHI collection and narrates the history of art related to the island over the past 170 years, as well as the broader artistic history of Greece.

This is an achievement that follows a chronological structure, forming a chain where each link connects seamlessly to the next, culminating in the present day. Contemporary artists join with those of the past to create a remarkable group exhibition.

Unfortunately, due to the limited space of the museum, a more detailed presentation of the subject is not feasible. We address this by periodically replacing the artworks with equivalent pieces, so as not to lose the essence of the theme and to maintain the balance required for a thoughtful selection from the collection.

There is no admission fee for entry to METHI. A voluntary donation system is in place to support the maintenance of the artworks.

The exhibition will run until the end of October.
Opening hours: 18:00 – 20:00, Monday through Friday.
